Oneohtrix Point Never
It is exceedingly hard to figure out whether (or more likely, when) Daniel Lopatin is fucking with us. Most of the time I think he’s not; even with all the cornball ’80s synths and glitched out passages in his endless catalog, his work as Oneohtrix Point Never always has some kind of feeling behind it. A serial ironist dares you to take him seriously; an OPN track dares you not to. That said, despite the five-LP box sets and the restless tweaking that keep much of Lopatin’s work from ever being soothing, the guy’s got a sense of humour, too.
